I am currently a senior at Marquette University majoring in public relations with a minor in political science. My prior nonprofit experience in the communication and marketing fields has sparked my growing passion for community based advocacy. I became interested in the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters as I wanted to get more involved politically especially regarding sustainability and protecting the environment.
I was born in Cairo, Egypt and my parents are originally from South Sudan. The importance of community advocacy and environmental health is more pertinent to my family especially looking at the current state of our home country. My parents are very passionate about fighting unethical practices against the people and the land in the South Sudan region, and it has driven my passion to do the same in Wisconsin.
I’m a conservation voter because I believe it is important to protect and preserve earth and its natural resources for an improved quality of life, both short and long term.
