- Support AB 133: Improving the Farmland Preservation Tax Credit

Support AB 64: Expanding Access to the Well Compensation Grant Program
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support AB 64, which is before the Assembly Committee on Agriculture on Tuesday.
Every Wisconsinite deserves to know the water coming out of their taps is safe to drink. Nitrate contamination is the most common groundwater contaminant in Wisconsin and can lead to health effects including cancer, birth defects, and even infant death. AB 64 supports Wisconsinites facing nitrate contamination by making small but necessary improvements to eligibility requirements under the state’s Well Compensation Grant Program. These changes will allow more people to access funds that protect their well water from the dangers of nitrate contamination.
Support AB 133: Improving the Farmland Preservation Tax Credit
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support AB 133, which is before the Assembly Committee on Agriculture on Tuesday.
Wisconsin’s farmland preservation program provides eligible farmers with a refundable per-acre tax credit. In order to be eligible for farmland preservation tax credits, landowners must also certify compliance with state soil and water conservation standards and practices. SB 134 & AB 133 would address Wisconsin farmers’ reluctance to participate in the farmland preservation program by updating the program to increase the credit amount for eligible farmers and would decrease the length of farmland preservation agreements signed with DATCP from 15 to 10 years.
Oppose AB 141 & SB 213: Restricting the Transition to Clean, Cost-Efficient Appliances
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose AB 141 and SB 213. AB 141 is before the Assembly Committee on State Affairs on Tuesday. SB 213 is before the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government on Wednesday.
To make our air cleaner to breathe and help save Wisconsinites money on their utility bills, we need to support the transition to cleaner, more cost-efficient electric appliances. AB 141 & SB 213 would work against this transition by prohibiting state agencies and local communities from phasing out the use of dirty, gas-powered appliances.
Oppose AB 142 & SB 212: Restricting the Transition to Clean Transportation
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose AB 142 and SB 212. AB 142 is before the Assembly Committee on State Affairs on Tuesday. SB 212 is before the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government on Wednesday.
To make our air cleaner to breathe and help combat climate change, we need to quickly transition to clean transportation. AB 141 & SB 212 would work against this transition by prohibiting state agencies and local communities from phasing out the use of dirty, gas-powered vehicles.
Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the senate, assembly and/or governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker.
