Support LRB 0302: Specifying vacancies in appointive state offices

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support LRB 0302, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.

Unless reappointed, officials in public office shouldn’t be able to stay in their position once their term expires. LRB 0302 specifies that a vacancy is created when an official’s term expires.

Support LRBs 2304 and 2941: Free admission to state parks on Earth Day

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support LRBs 2304 and 2941, which are circulating for co-sponsorship.

To protect health and quality of life for future generations, we must ensure young Wisconsinites are connected to our waters and lands. LRB 2304 and LRB 2941 provide an opportunity for every Wisconsinite to experience our state parks with their families by providing free state park admission on Earth Day.

Support SB 96: EV charging technical corrections

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support SB 96, which is before the Senate Committee on Utilities and Tourism on Wednesday.

Electric vehicles help save consumers money at the pump and reduce air pollution. SB 96 is a necessary technical fix to last year's Act 121 & Act 122 to clarify that all levels of chargers are exempt from the 3c/kwh tax that are at a residence. It also clarifies the process for charger owner operators that need to register for the tax.

Oppose SB 125: Cutting corners on nuclear energy safety

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose SB 125, which is before the Senate Committee on Utilities and Tourism on Wednesday.

Wisconsin cannot afford to cut corners on ensuring the safety of new nuclear facilities. SB 125 proposes an expedited and arbitrary timeline for permitting nuclear projects, which undermines thoughtful planning and jeopardizes Wisconsinites’ health and safety.

Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the Senate, Assembly and/or Governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker. Issues in the CNOW may appear in the Conservation Scorecard, to be released in the summer of 2026.

Save the date for Conservation Lobby Day, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
