Support LRB 1441 and LRB 2082: Supporting grazing on perennial grasslands

Managed grazing protects our water and builds healthy soil. Wisconsin should assist farmers in transitioning to managed grazing systems on perennial grasslands. LRB 1441 and LRB 2082 would create a new program for providing grants to farmers in making the transition to managed grazing.

Oppose LRB 1212: Cutting corners on nuclear energy safety

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose LRB 1212, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.

Wisconsin cannot afford to cut corners on ensuring the safety of new nuclear facilities. LRB 1212 proposes an expedited and arbitrary timeline for permitting nuclear projects, which undermines thoughtful planning and jeopardizes Wisconsinites’ health and safety.

Oppose LRB 0360: Exacerbating felony disenfranchisement

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose LRB 0360, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.

Voting is a right. Currently, Wisconsin has one of the most stringent voting rights restoration policies in the nation, only allowing rights restoration after fully completing the terms of a sentence – including probation, parole, and extended supervision. LRB 0360 would make this problem even worse by adding additional requirements before rights are restored. This would take us backward in the fight to protect Wisconsinites’ freedom to vote.

Oppose LRB 0113: Outlawing protected protest

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose LRB 0113, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.

The right to protest is central to the ability to advocate for a world where every person can breathe clean air, drink safe water, and protect the lands we love. LRB 0113 would create a vague definition of “riot” that could penalize whole groups of people for the actions of a few. LRB 0113 leaves too many questions of legality up to interpretation by police under rapidly changing conditions.

Support LRBs 0787 & 2224: EV charging technical corrections

Electric vehicles help save consumers money at the pump and reduce air pollution. LRBs 0787 & 2224 are necessary technical fixes to last year's Act 121 & Act 122 to clarify that all levels of chargers are exempt from the 3c/kwh tax that are at a residence. It also clarifies the process for charger owner operators that need to register for the tax.

Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the Senate, Assembly and/or Governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker. Issues in the CNOW may appear in the Conservation Scorecard, to be released in the summer of 2026.

Save the date for Conservation Lobby Day, which will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
