Oppose AB 840: Failure to protect communities from data center impacts
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose AB 840, which is before the Assembly on Tuesday.
Wisconsin residents should not have to pay for large tech companies looking to site data centers in their communities. Data centers should have to pay the full costs of their energy load, including being connected to the electrical grid. AB 840 would drive up costs and pollution for Wisconsin residents by limiting lower-cost renewables to having to be on-site and not explicitly requiring that tech companies have to pay the full costs of their energy and being connected to the energy grid.
Co-sponsor LRB 0021: Beginning Automatic Voter Registration
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to co-sponsor LRB 0021, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.
Because voting is a right, we should automatically register all eligible electors. LRB 0021 requires the Wisconsin Election Commission to facilitate the registration of all eligible electors by creating an automatic voter registration process through the Department of Transportation.
Co-sponsor LRB 5757: Removing barriers to the ballot for college students
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to co-sponsor LRB 5757, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.
To build a democracy that works for everyone, we need to build systems that encourage young voters to make their voices heard on Election Day. LRB 5757 would remove burdensome restrictions on whether students at Wisconsin technical colleges and UW System institutions can use their student ID card for voting.
Co-sponsor LRB 5801: Notifying voters when a polling place changes
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to co-sponsor LRB 5801, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.
To avoid potential confusion on Election Day, Wisconsin voters should be notified if their polling place changes. Under LRB 5801, if a polling place changes after election, municipal clerks would be required to notify each residence in the area served by that polling place.
Co-sponsor LRB 5803: Restoring the 10-day voter registration residency requirement
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to co-sponsor LRB 5803, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.
Wisconsinites should be able to vote where they live. Our 28-day voter registration residency requirement can sometimes make that difficult. LRB 5803 would restore our voter registration residency requirement to 10 days.
Co-sponsor LRB 5816: Celebrating the life and legacy of Secretary George Meyer
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to co-sponsor LRB 5816.
From his birth on a dairy farm in New Holstein to his leadership at the Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, Secretary George Meyer lived his life in service to the people and places we hold closest to our hearts. LRB 5816 honors his life and legacy.
Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the Senate, Assembly and/or Governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker. Issues in the CNOW may appear in the Conservation Scorecard, to be released in the summer of 2026.
