CNOW for March 16, 2026

Today's conservation notices:

  • Support AB 130 & AB 131: Creating PFAS grant programs
  • Support AB 248: Specifying vacancies in appointive state offices
  • Oppose AB 955: Politicians micromanaging health-based standards
  • Support LRB 6552: Getting Wisconsin's energy to 100% carbon-free

Support AB 130 & 131: Creating PFAS grant programs
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support AB 130 & AB 131, which are before the Senate on Tuesday.

To protect Wisconsinites from PFAS contamination, we need to support remediation in both our public and private water infrastructure. AB 130 & AB 131 create a new community grant program for public water infrastructure, and fund relief for private well owners through the well compensation grant program.

Support AB 248: Specifying vacancies in appointive state offices
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support AB 248, which is before the Senate on Tuesday.

Unless re-appointed, officials in public office shouldn’t be able to stay in their position once their term expires. AB 248 specifies that a vacancy is created when an official’s term expires.

Oppose AB 955: Politicians micromanaging health-based standards
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose AB 955, which is before the Senate on Tuesday.

To protect our families from environmental contamination, our state agencies need the ability to efficiently and effectively advance health-based standards, based on the latest science. AB 955 would disrupt this process by requiring explicit statutory authority for any new administrative rule.

Support LRB 6552: Getting Wisconsin's energy to 100% carbon-free
Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support LRB 6552, which is currently circulating for co-sponsorship.

Investing in clean energy is a win-win. Solar and wind are the cheapest and quickest fuel sources to build while reducing the need for polluting fossil fuels that harm our health. LRB 6552 would require Wisconsin to generate 100% of our energy from carbon-free energy sources by 2050.

Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the Senate, Assembly and/or Governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker. Issues in the CNOW may appear in the Conservation Scorecard, to be released in the summer of 2026.
