CNOW for Nov. 10, 2025

Today's conservation notices:

  • Support LRB 5432: The Data Center Accountability Act
  • Support LRB 2800 & 5414: Reestablishing Regional Transit Authorities
  • Support LRB 0971 & 3581: Helping local communities develop bike paths and trails
  • Oppose AB 315 & AB 612: Weakening the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Program

Support LRB 5432: The Data Center Accountability Act

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support LRB 5432, which is circulating for co-sponsorship.

If data centers are coming to Wisconsin, they should cover their added energy costs, rely on renewable power as much as possible, and be transparent about their water and energy use. LRB 5432 would require data centers to source at least 70 percent of their electricity from renewable energy to qualify for state tax exemptions, ensure that data centers are paying for all the costs attributed to their energy use, and provide transparency about water and energy use.

Support LRB 2800 & 5414: Reestablishing regional transit authorities

Wisconsin Conservation voters urges you to support LRB 2800 & 5414, which are circulating for co-sponsorship.

Public transportation connects us to work, school, and the people we love. We need better mechanisms for linking transportation services across jurisdictional lines. LRB 2800 & 5414 would reestablish regional transit authorities to provide communities with a governance structure for planning and funding regional transit.

Support LRB 0971 & 3581: Helping local communities develop bike paths and trails

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support LRB 0971 & 3581, which are circulating for co-sponsorship.

We need more tools to support development of bike lanes, walking paths, and trails. These are integral parts of community transportation plans, and central to increasing Wisconsinites’ health and quality of life. LRB 0971 & 3581 would restore the ability of state and local governments to use the same tools available to road development to acquire land or interests in land for the purpose of building or extending state recreational trails, bike lanes, or sidewalks.

Oppose AB 315 & AB 612: Weakening the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Program

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose AB 315 & AB 612, which are before the Assembly Committee on Forestry, Parks, and Outdoor Recreation on Wednesday.

Wisconsin has one of the premier land acquisition programs in the country. It gives all people a place to swim, boat, fish, hunt, and relax in our beautiful state. This program is overwhelmingly popular and a critical component of our state's economy. AB 315 would make this program unworkable by requiring a full legislative vote on any project larger than $1 million. AB 612 would establish a funding mechanism for the bill.

Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the Senate, Assembly and/or Governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker. Issues in the CNOW may appear in the Conservation Scorecard, to be released in the summer of 2026.
