Appleton's new sustainable library is benefiting city residents | WCV Stories

Thanks to Pres. Biden's Affordable Clean Energy Plan, the City of Appleton was able to save almost two million dollars in the construction of their new library downtown. With those savings, the city will reinvest that money to put solar panels on the roof of the new library in addition to the already planned energy-efficient geothermal heating and cooling.
Dean Gazza, the director of Parks and Recreation and Facilities Management at the City of Appleton, explains that the library will be a learning center for the community and showcase the renewable energy the building is using. Not only will this project save the city money in the long run, but this building puts the city on track towards its clean energy goals and benefits the health of its residents.
