The election of Judge Susan Crawford to the Wisconsin Supreme Court

Wisconsin voters delivered a decisive victory for democracy in the Spring Election by electing Justice-elect Susan Crawford to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. This win sends a strong message that our courts will protect fundamental rights, uphold the state constitution, and enforce environmental protections – rejecting the influence of corporate polluters and extremist agendas.

Justice-elect Crawford’s victory reflects Wisconsin’s commitment to defending democracy, even against unprecedented financial interference from out-of-state billionaires like Elon Musk. Despite attempts to buy the election, Wisconsin voters stood firm, reaffirming that our courts are not for sale.

This success would not have been possible without the dedication of our community. Through Wisconsin Conservation Voters IEC and more than 500 passionate volunteers, we knocked on nearly 130,000 doors, sent handwritten postcards to over 21,000 voters, and ran strategic digital ads highlighting the importance of a fair and balanced court. In total, we invested over $1.3 million to ensure the Wisconsin Supreme Court remains a protector of voting rights and environmental justice.
