AB 920 & SB 925 : Beginning Automatic Voter Registration

Bill Description

Because voting is a right, we should automatically register all eligible electors. AB 920 & SB 925 require the Wisconsin Election Commission to facilitate the registration of all eligible electors by creating an automatic voter registration process through the Department of Transportation.

Current Status

AB 920 was introduced on Jan. 28, 2026, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.

SB 925 was introduced on Feb. 6, 2026, and referred to the Senate Committee on Government Operations, Labor and Economic Development. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
