AB 635 & SB 628 : The Water Pollution Notification Act

Bill Description

Wisconsin families have a right to know if their drinking water might be contaminated. The one third of Wisconsinites who rely on private wells are rarely notified about nearby contamination. AB 635 & SB 628 would require the DNR to notify local health officials when they’ve identified groundwater contamination, giving those local health officials the tools they need to notify impacted people. This would ensure impacted people can take proactive steps to protect their families from drinking contaminated water.
