Bill Description
Electric vehicles help save consumers money at the pump and reduce air pollution. SB 96 & AB 106 are necessary technical fixes to last year's Act 121 & Act 122 to clarify that all levels of chargers are exempt from the 3c/kwh tax that are at a residence. It also clarifies the process for charger owner operators that need to register for the tax.

SB 96 was introduced on Mar. 7, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Utilities and Tourism. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing. AB 106 was introduced on Mar. 11., 2025, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Energy and Utilities. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
