Bill Description
To protect the one third of Wisconsinites who rely on private wells as their source for drinking water, we need to fund testing and educational efforts around potential groundwater contamination. SB 762 & AB 797 create a grant program for community-based well testing and educational efforts.

SB 762 was introduced on Dec. 12, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources, Veteran, and Military Affairs. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
AB 797 was introduced on Dec. 23, 2025, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Environment. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
