Bill Description
To protect the two thirds of Wisconsinites who rely on groundwater as their source for drinking water, we need to fund research that protects it. SB 772 & AB 770 provide funding for the University of Wisconsin System and the DNR to support their responsibilities related to the Wisconsin Groundwater Coordinating Council.
Current Status
SB 772 was introduced on Dec. 12, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources, Veteran, and Military Affairs. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
AB 770 was introduced on Dec. 17, 2025, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Environment. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
