AB 944 & SB 924 : Grants for local elections supplies

Bill Description

To ensure our elections are accessible, our local elections officials need sufficient funding for their operations. AB 944 creates a grant program for local elections officials to purchase supplies and equipment.

Current Status

AB 944 was introduced on Jan. 28, 2026, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.

SB 924 was introduced on Feb. 6, 2026, and referred to the Senate Committee on Government Operations, Labor and Economic Development. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
