SB 343 & AB 334 : Improving bike and pedestrian infrastructure

Bill Description

To reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, we need to build communities with more bikeways and pedestrian paths. SB 343 & AB 334 require that bikeways and pedestrian paths be constructed in new highway construction and reconstruction projects that are funded with state or federal dollars. This will help ensure that our communities are sustainably connected.

Current Status

SB 343 was introduced on June 27, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.

AB 334 was introduced on July 8, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Transportation. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
