AB 228 & SB 241 : Incentivizing data centers without environmental considerations

Bill Description

Data centers require a lot of energy and water resources to operate. Wisconsin's economic development tools should not be used to incentivize industries that do not have plans to adequately address their outsized environmental impacts. AB 245 & SB 241 create a broad tax incremental financing-related benefit for data centers, without any requirements related to how they are developed or powered.
