Bill Description
Wisconsin shouldn’t incentivize special interest group challenges to health-based environmental standards. SB 276 & AB 275 would allow special interest groups to recover attorney fees and costs from attacks on environmental standards.
Current Status
SB 276 was introduced on May 21, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Licensing, Regulatory Reform, State and Federal Affairs. It received a public hearing on Oct. 9, 2025, passed out of committee on Nov. 7, 2025. and passed the Senate on Feb. 11, 2026.
AB 275 was introduced on May 30, 2025, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Government Operations, Accountability, and Transparency. It received a public hearing on Oct. 9, 2025, and passed out of committee on Nov. 18, 2025. SB 276 passed the Assembly on Feb. 12, 2026.
Ask Gov. Evers to veto SB 276.
