SB 298 & AB 289 : Prohibiting neonicotinoids near pollinator habitats

Bill Description

We need to limit the use of neonicotinoids, a class of insecticides known to be particularly harmful to pollinator habitats. SB 298 & AB 289 would prohibit DNR from using neonicotinoids near any pollinator habitat located on land maintained by the DNR.

Current Status

SB 298 was introduced on May 30, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources, Veteran and Military Affairs. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing. AB 289 was introduced on May 30, 2025, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Agriculture. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
