Bill Description
As Wisconsin faces an increasing number of climate change-related heat waves, we must protect all residents from the health risks associated with extreme temperatures. SB 715 & AB 734 would ensure that people in our correctional institutions, county jails, and houses of correction receive those protections.

SB 715 was introduced on Dec. 2, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
AB 734 was introduced on Dec. 3, 2025, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Corrections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
