AB 941 & SB 931 : Removing barriers to the ballot for college students

Bill Description

To build a democracy that works for everyone, we need to build systems that encourage young voters to make their voices heard on Election Day. AB 941 & SB 931 would remove burdensome restrictions on whether students at Wisconsin technical colleges and UW System institutions can use their student ID card for voting.

Current Status

AB 941 was introduced on Jan. 28, 2026, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.

SB 931 was introduced on Feb. 6, 2026, and referred to the Senate Committee on Government Operations, Labor and Economic Development. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
