Bill Description
To tackle climate change and limit the waste clogging our landfills, we need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuel intensive, single-use products like plastic bags. SB 777 & AB 783 would restore local communities' ability to enact policies that reduce our reliance on these products.

SB 777 was introduced on Dec. 12, 2025, and referred to the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
AB 783 was introduced on Dec. 17, 2025, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Jobs and Economy. Is is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
