AB 945 & SB 923 : Restoring the 10-day voter registration residency requirement

Bill Description

Wisconsinites should be able to vote where they live. Our 28-day voter registration residency requirement can sometimes make that difficult. AB 945 & SB 923 would restore our voter registration residency requirement to 10 days.

AB 945 was introduced on Jan. 28, 2026, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.

SB 923 was introduced on Feb. 6, 2026, and referred to the Senate Committee on Government Operations, Labor and Economic Development. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
