SB 665 & AB 687 : Setting an arbitrary wolf population goal in statute

Bill Description

Wisconsin now has an adaptive, science-based wolf management plan focused on supporting a healthy wolf population and minimizing depredations. SB 665 & AB 687 work against this plan by requiring the Department of Natural Resources to establish a numeric statewide wolf population goal. This undermines the ability of the DNR to balance multiple goals and respond to the changing populations.
