• Support SB 52: Preventing Salt Pollution

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support SB 52, which is before the Senate on Tuesday.

We need to protect our freshwater ecosystems. Each winter, excess road salt accumulates in our freshwater and damages those ecosystems – largely resulting from over-application intended to avoid liability for damages associated with snow and ice hazards. SB 52 would create a voluntary de-icer certification program that trains commercial applicators in best-management practices for snow and ice removal and, in turn, limit their liability for potential damages.

Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the senate, assembly and/or governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker.
