Oppose SJR 5 & AJR 6: Eliminating the Governor’s Ability to Spend Federal Dollars

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to oppose SJR 5 & AJR 6, which are before the Senate Committee on Universities and Revenue on Tuesday.

Wisconsin communities depend on the quick deployment of federal dollars to protect their drinking water, fund clean energy projects, and respond to extreme weather emergencies. SJR 5 & AJR 6 would eliminate the governor’s ability to quickly distribute this federal funding.

Support SB 357: Native Plants for Pollinators

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support SB 357, which is before the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy on Wednesday.

Native plants are known to provide the most benefit to pollinator habitats. SB 357 would require state agencies and other government entities to give preference to using native prairies and forage plants that benefit native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Support SB 775: Bolstering the Energy Innovation Grants Program

Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges you to support SB 775, which is before the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy on Wednesday.

The Public Service Commission’s Energy Innovation Grant Program provides important support for a range of energy-related projects that reduce energy consumption, support renewables, and increase energy efficiency. SB 775 provides more support to this program by increasing the number of grants awarded. This is critical to ensuring that Wisconsin can more quickly transition to clean, renewable energy.

Conservation Notices of the Week (CNOW) announces the pro-conservation positions on issues before the senate, assembly and/or governor in the week ahead to state legislators. Others wishing to follow activities in the state legislature also receive CNOW, including legislative staff, conservation voters, and media. All of these issues are tracked on the Vote Tracker.
