Green Bay residents celebrate early voting with an art event and group walk to the polls

Aug 04, 2022

GREEN BAY – Today, Green Bay community members of all backgrounds will gather to celebrate their freedom to vote and cast their vote early.

Wisconsin Conservation Voters, community groups, and local residents will gather for an art making event on Green Bay’s CityDeck to celebrate the expansion of early voting hours. Immediately following the community art projects and discussion on the importance of early voting, residents will walk to the polls together to cast their ballots early.

On June 28, 2022, the Green Bay Common Council unanimously voted to expand early voting hours. This move to expand access to the ballot was due to years of organizing efforts and the support of Green Bay Clerk Celestine Jeffreys.

There will be opportunities for in-person interviews. Casey Hicks, organizing director, will be the contact at the event. He will be wearing a blue Wisconsin Conservation Voters shirt.
