Heather Allen is Director of Policy in Wisconsin at Elevate. In this role, she works to conquer roadblocks to solar and electrification on affordable housing in the Badger State. Since first installing solar on her rooftop Heather has dedicated herself to ensure all Wisconsinites have access to clean energy. As the Executive Director of RENEW Wisconsin, from 2020-22, she guided overall strategy, policy development, day to day operations, and membership engagement. In prior roles, Heather developed policies and programs at government agencies and nonprofits including the City of Madison, Clean Lakes Alliance, Natural Resources Defense Council and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Heather claims to have created the first clean energy podcast in Wisconsin in 2017. Heather produced and hosted the “Wisconsin Energy Broadcast”, a podcast and radio show (WORT-FM 89.9) featuring Midwest clean energy news stories for three years.
