Expanding the distribution of wild game for neighbors in need

Wisconsin’s sportsmen help to feed needy families by donating venison through the Venison Donation Program. Counties that participate in the program are entitled to full reimbursement of the cost of processing the donated meat through a surcharge on most hunting licenses. AB 107 expands the program to include the donation and processing of wild turkey. The bill passed with bipartisan support and was signed into law as Act 31 on July 1, 2015.
