Bill Description
The Public Service Commission’s Energy Innovation Grant Program provides important support for a range of energy-related projects that reduce energy consumption, support renewables, and increase energy efficiency. SB 775 & AB 823 provide more support to this program by increasing the number of grants awarded. This is critical to ensuring that Wisconsin can more quickly transition to clean, renewable energy.
Current Status
SB 775 was introduced on December 8, 2023, and referred to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy. A public hearing was held on January 24, 2024. AB 823 was introduced on December 22, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Energy and Utilities. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
