Bill Description
Our elections officials are responsible for making voting as accessible as possible. Budget shortfalls can hinder their ability to do that. SB 936 & AB 1047 would support access to the ballot by creating a grant program administered by the Wisconsin Elections Commission to support the purchase of election supplies and equipment at the local level.
Current Status
SB 936 was introduced on January 19, 2024, and referred to the Senate Committee on Shared Revenue, Elections, and Consumer Protection. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
AB 1047 was introduced on February 2, 2024, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
