AB 319 : Creating Loopholes for Mining Reclamation

Bill Description

To protect our land and water from pollution generated by mining, mining companies must abide by common sense reclamation standards that protect public health. AB 319 would exempt companies from the current reclamation requirements if the site is being occupied by a concrete or asphalt plant. This would delay restoration efforts and increase the risk of pollution to our land and waters.

Current Status

AB 319 was introduced on June 9, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Local Government. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
