Bill Description
To reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, we need to build communities with more bikeways and pedestrian paths. SB 793 & AB 843 require that bikeways and pedestrian paths be constructed in new highway construction and reconstruction projects that are funded with state or federal dollars. This will help ensure that our communities are sustainably connected.

SB 793 was introduced on December 8, 2023, and referred to the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing. AB 843 was introduced on December 22, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Transportation. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
