Wisconsin elections administration depends on nonpartisan leadership to be implemented fairly and efficiently. SB 834 & AB 899 would politicize elections administration by dissolving the Wisconsin Elections Commission and concentrating decision-making authority into the hands of two partisan-controlled committees of Wisconsin’s gerrymandered legislature.

SB 834 was introduced on December 19, 2023, and referred to the Senate Committee on Shared Revenue, Elections and Consumer Protection. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing. AB 899 was introduced on January 4, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
