On September 14, 2023, Republicans attempted to remove Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) Administrator Meagan Wolfe from office, despite the Wisconsin Department of Justice's determination that there was no administrator appointment before the Senate. Administrator Wolfe is continuing to serve as the WEC Administrator unless a court rules that she must step down, or the 6 WEC Commissioners vote to remove her.
