SB 357 & AB 361 : Native Plants for Pollinators

Bill Description

Native plants are known to provide the most benefit to pollinator habitats. SB 357 & AB 361 would require state agencies and other government entities to give preference to using native prairie and forage plants that benefit native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.


Current Status

SB 357 was introduced on July 13, 2023, and referred to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy. A public hearing was held on January 24, 2024, and the bill passed out of committee on February 8, 2024. AB 361 was introduced on July 27, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Environment.
