AB 497 & SB 570 : Notifying Voters When a Polling Place Changes

Bill Description

To avoid potential confusion on Election Day, Wisconsin voters should be notified if their polling place changes. Under AB 497 & SB 570, if a polling place changes after election, municipal clerks would be required to notify each residence in the area served by that polling place.


Current Status

AB 497 was introduced on October 18, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections. A public hearing was held on October 19, 2023. SB 570 was introduced on October 23, 2023, and referred to the Senate Committee on Shared Revenue, Elections and Consumer Protection. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
