SB 1093 & AB 1194 : Phasing Out the Non-Essential Use of PFAS

Bill Description

To protect our communities from PFAS, we need to stop using these toxic forever chemicals in consumer products. SB 1093 & AB 1194 would phase out the non-essential use of PFAS in food packaging, cleaning products, cosmetics, and textile furnishings, beginning in 2028.

SB 1093 was introduced on March 18, 2024, and referred to the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Energy. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing. AB 1194 was introduced on April 11, 2024, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Environment. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
