Bill Description
As Wisconsin faces an increasing number of climate change-related heat waves, we must protect all residents from the health risks associated with extreme temperatures. SB 729 & AB 757 would ensure that people in our correctional institutions, county jails, and houses of correction receive those protections.
Current Status
SB 729 was introduced on November 21, 2023, and referred to the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing. AB 757 was introduced on December 6, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Corrections. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing.
