Bill Description
Managed grazing protects our water and builds healthy soil. Wisconsin should assist farmers in transitioning to managed grazing systems on perennial grasslands. SB 619 & AB 655 would create a new program for providing grants to farmers in making the transition to managed grazing.
Current Status
SB 619 was introduced on November 7, 2023, and referred to the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Tourism. It is available to be scheduled for a public hearing. AB 655 was introduced on November 9, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Agriculture. A public hearing was held on November 21, 2023.
