Bill Description
To safeguard our water, we need to maintain strong protections against pollution generated by mining. AB 320 would allow non-metallic mining sites to operate closer to shared waterways. This would increase the risk of polluting those waterways.
Current Status
AB 320 was introduced on June 9, 2023, and referred to the Assembly Committee on Local Government. A public hearing was held on June 13, 2023. The bill passed out of committee on June 15, 2023, and passed the full Assembly via voice vote on June 21, 2023.
